Eleven large quarto volumes; bust portraits of Homer bound opposite the titles of the Iliad and Odyssey; folding map of Homeric Greece; the Iliad extra-illustrated with folding view of Troy and 38 other plates from Ogilby's Homer; the Odyssey extra-illustrated with 30 plates; the plates cut down, removing any text at the foot; two volumes (IV and V of the Odyssey not uniform, taller copies in similar bindings and the same early bookplates) bound in period speckled calf ruled in gilt with spines lettered and tooled in gilt; some joints mended, extremities rubbed; ex libris Alexander Thistlethwayte, Esq., whose library was sold at auction in 1772, with engraved armorial bookplates; 10 3/4 x 8 in.
